Park Summary

Nakato Park is located in the southern central part of the Sayama Hills. This park plays an important role to network water and greenery of Sayama Hills with other sites such as Noyamakita-Rokudoyama Park in the west, city parks and greenery including Higashiyamato Park and Sayama Park in the east, and Lake Tama (Murayama Reservoir) in the north.
The park is comprised of the grove of mixed tree species which mainly includes sawtooth oak and quercus serrata. The rich natural environment allows for a diverse array of life to thrive.
The area of yato which will soon be opened to the public, includes historical and cultural assets such as Banta-ike (Banta pond), Akasaka-ike (Akasaka pond), Daidarabocchi no Ido (the well used by the legendary giant Daidarabocchi) and Kichijosan mountain.
